The BM's on the forum that are giving you the advice have been to LOS a lot, and while they do not partake in the drug scene in LOS, have seen many a farang get in very serious trouble due to drugs and they are just trying to tell you that you would be a lot safer staying away from drugs while in LOS.
Previous threads have talked about farangs being set up in drug deals and now there has been some drug testing in LOS and there is a thread about that so you might want to do a search and read the previous threads.
You sre big boys and will make your own choice but it is a much harder fall in LOS than anything that will ever happen to you in US or Europe and they are just trying to tell you to watch out.
