It's a bit like anything new really, you just need to suss out the situation and then make up your own minds.
Taking this subject aside, there's loads to do in LOS and plenty of fun to be had. It may even be that you are too pre-occupied with other things  that you just don't get around to doing any drugs, which means any arguing on here was a waste of time really.
2 weeks to go eh ? It won't be long before you're counting the hours !! 
I hope you have a good time and I pretty much guaranteee it will be your first trip and not your only trip to LOS.
