Current advice DO NOT CLEAR CUSTOMS IN PHUKET..
They have just installed facial recognician computers and the idiots dont know what the hell they are doing with the computers.. I spent 50 mins to clear customs back from Singapore on a half empty A380 and I was not last off the plane by any stretch...
you could just see all the immigration officers not knowing which button to press or what to do any time anything unusual happened.. Then they ask the guy in the next queue (who also doesnt know) and the other queue also stops while they confer.. Was taking 2 - 3 mins per person at times and only 4 lanes in operation..
I dread to think what happens when international direct flights with high volume arrives.. >1 hour wait times after a long flight are a royal PITA..
