Fortress America is apparently one of the toughest in the world (if not the toughest).. I hear tourist visa's are nigh on impossible and the K1 fiance visa is about the only likely route.. Lots of paper work and its a one shot deal.. 1 K1 is all as its to get married (once)..
Check on Thaivisa.com.. Europe is pretty trivial in my experience and UK a little harder but not too bad (some paperwork.. Often an interview but say the right things and they allow it)..

Yes, tourist visa is real tuff. beneficiary has to provide substantial proof of intent to return. i.e. Ownership of property or home, employment letter,bank account,deposits,family ties etc, even then no guarantee. K1 is no picnic either. Recommend Visajourney.com for wealth of more info. And formums. I am currently in the process of a k1 visa.
