i took my lap top last time with a flash card reader to download photos, never used it apart from that.
To read the forums I used to go to Club Rio where the internet is free (but limited to twenty minutes if other people are waiting), or got to internet cafe for 1 baht per minute.
Free wifi connections are available in MTB and Club Rio - do a search on this forum there may be more!
