Speedos are tight nylon swim trunks, the kind that competition swimmers wear. They are a little bit like bikinis for men!! Not quite the thing to wear unless you are sporting a six-pack(and I don't mean beer!). On the other hand, if you are into swimming laps like me, they do make it a lot easier!!
