I am sure a camcorder have better quality but I need a network cam since I dont have a computer in the bar. My own guess is that the humidity cause the degradation. Cleaning helps but it get worse after a while anyway and no cleaning helps in the long run.

Have you ever thought of using an old camcorder? One time my brother and I were trying to set up a video conference. I used a webcam and he used a video camcorder. My pictures looked terrible, his were great.
