IF it's the humidity, why not talk to one of the diving companys in Patong and try to get one of thier waterproof cameracases! They also fill them with some stuff (bags?) to get rid of the humidity!
If You invest in a god (=expensive) camera. it can be worth to protect it!

Thought of the same thing myself!
But I was thinking that a 'home made box' would do the trick. Aslong as its mostly se\led, it would stop the lens steaming up, it would work fine.
But then im no internet camera expert
