Exelent thought man!! However instead of buying some perhaps expensive box I think a simple glass box or plexi box could do the trick and I could bring with me "desicator stones" from the lab... And all there is to do is to change it once a month and dry (high temperature) it. I think it would be much cheaper... Let me know and I think 300 grams or so would be more than enough.

IF it's the humidity, why not talk to one of the diving companys in Patong and try to get one of thier waterproof cameracases! They also fill them with some stuff (bags?) to get rid of the humidity!
If You invest in a god (=expensive) camera. it can be worth to protect it!
