After 3 days I was walking nearby Wat Po, at 12:00 a day, the sun was burning, the traffic was enormous, the unknown smells of the Thai herbs were still in my nose, and I shouted: "Out of this place! I hate it!" We moved on to the South, and after 10 days I said to my friends: "Im going to live here".

To cut a long story short, I sold all my belongings (house fe) and moved to T. My suitcase was 8 kg. I did nothing the first 3 years. Chilling.

I was very fortunated to have met my Thai wife already (on Sea Canoe) and after 3 years we got married. She is an exceptional business woman and I'm a rather nice, though lousy, computer man (Linux of course) and together we are making money right now.

I have been very lucky in my life!
Hi Burg and thank you for your honest and open answer to my question. I am another poster who can get a bit wacky now and again but that's just me! Wibble!

You are of a similar age to me I am guessing (Maybe a bit younger) and reading what you did/have done made me smile. It takes balls to do what you did. So many people talk about getting out of the rat race, you did it. You have my respect there. You are a lucky man, you are making money, you do have a lovely wife, you are living your life. I would have thought you would be bursting at the seams to tell us all about it. I think we are all guilty at somepoint of not engaging our brains or mouth before putting fingers to keyboard. Some BM's are younger, maybe not as educated as yourself, however, I do hope you find the intellectual input on this forum you crave and just have a wry smile at the idiots, such as me, who post countdowns to thier holidays (Guilty! ) Rants and raves (Guilty! ) and stoopid questions! (Yep, you guessed it - Guilty! )

A hell of alot of us here aspire to do what you have and are doing Burg. I am going out now with the prospect of being blown up, shot at, petrol-bombed or spat at! (My choice I do know that) What are your plans for today in the LOS Burg? Cheer up mate. You're doing it!

PS If Diz's relationship crashes and burns (which I sincerely hope it doesn't) Then I want to be the first on the pop with him. Take care Diz.
