All TGs know the English word, "shopping." I think it is the 1st word they learn. Although it is not a word i especially like to hear coz i know it wil cost me $, I think it is really cute the way they say it, which is not "shop-ing," as we say it, but rather "shaw-ping" with ping said much higher than the shaw part.
Of course, Thai is a tonal language. English is not, except sometimes it is when the TGs speak it!!
"Thai boxing" is the same, said "bok-sing" with high tone on the sing part! It is always funny when they exclaim, "Thai bok-sing!!", as they accompany the words with a little demonstration, a flurry of jabs and sometimes a playful kick or 2 thrown in for good measure.
