usually you ask for your current registrar to tranfer it to you.. They charge you a fee (usually one year reg) and it adds one year to the domain registration (so essentially is free)..

Then the current registramt gets an email (sent to the domain owner email address) link to agree and when I agree it then moves over.. Its pretty easy.. I have loads of .coms and nets some bought after market some bought and regged myself.. some I had to move to other people.. It gan be worse with .org's as they have to have some faxing done..

I just found another batch of better ones.. I forgot how many of thes damn .info's I had.. These are good ones IMHO..
