Ipods are mp3 players. They also come in photo versions for storing pictures. They have 3 basic model types. Low End - Shuffle, Mid Range - Mini, and High End - standard Ipod.

The Shuffle is the smallest model but is not quite as small as some of the other mp3 players geared towards sports uses. I think the largest is the Ipod Photo with 60 GB of storage.

Personally I chose the mini since I like to have enough room for music for long bike rides and I sometimes use it in the car, and it was much cheaper for me than the standard Ipod, and also smaller. I paid $150 for the 4G model here in the US back in May.

I think the prices are pretty universal unless you buy them used or opened. I saw the shuffle for 4000 baht in Bangkok last time I was there which is exactly the same price as it was here at the time.
