Yes you can use your own hi-fi headphones with the small adapter jack to listen to the ipod.
Yes there is a lead supplied to upload the tracks/albums to the ipod from the PC.
There is a menu on the ipod to search,for either track,artist or album so it should be easy to find the track in the menu,
