not too bad a price, that would be to singapore then silk air to phuket, and could do it cheaper using asiaair, and others from singapore and back but is nice to have no luggage transfer problems.
also try malayasian airlines via KL.

Yeah that's a good price. I actually prefer flying with Singapore. As AD said the luggage transfer is easy and no problem, I have used them for the last 3 years.

The last 2 trips I have found it worked out cheaper to book it as 2 separate sectors by the internet. Book SYD/SIN/SYD on the SQ website and then the SIN/HKT/SIN on the Silkair website. Works out well when you can pick up the special flexi fares on SQ and then a local Singapore sale fare SIN/HKT. Just got a SIN/HKT/SIN fare of SGD$180 for next month.

Your booking too far ahead to get any of the sale seats SIN/HKT. If you get one of those you would be up for 938+140=1078

Planter $580 from Sin/hkt/sin....u sure ?......try Tiger Airlines....that price seems incorrect.

If you connect to Tiger in SIN, how do you do the transfer as there is no interline agreements with Tiger. Do you have go through immigration and customs and recheckin???

Just looked at using Tiger SIN/HKT/SIN for your dates and the fare comes to $992. The problem is a long transit time on the way back home, so you would probably end up spending what you save on airfares at the airport bar.

Industry Rates

Planter...I dont know whether you fall in any of the categories but its worth a look: www.travelclub.com.au - costs 30 bucks to join.....I have just booked Syd-Phuket direct for $399 plus taxes between 200-230....great deal but deal only runs through dec 3 to late jan....
Last time I used them I got Gulf air from SYD-SIN for $299 plus taxes 200....and yeah we took the asia air around midday and regret not taking the tiger air at 0700....our flight got into SIN at 0300...so it was a long wait...
other than that the best deal is gulfair to SIN for 665 plus taxes...so its much cheaper than the other options ie Sin and Thai airways...good luck

Have uaually gone Malaysian to KL at $A900 to 1000 and then Airaisia to Phuket at $A33 to $66 each way.Checkout Australin Airlines who are introducing a new Syd-Phuket direct flight on Dec 3 05...around $A1160?? I think they are winding down their Bali flights and trying a new playground (god help us)
