Made me laugh
Just sent an email to Casa Summer Breeze to ask if the room they had available was front facing and with a balcony, the reply I got was:-
Bernie, None of the rooms at Summer Breeze have balconies....so I can't help you there. Taxi pickup is 550 baht. Also, there is no charge for guests. Sorry about balcony....as yours is the last room available, I probably would not have had a balcony available anyway. That's lucky then !!! thought about having a bit of fun and replying, perfect I'll take the room with the balcony then.

Replied to them confirming room and stating that I would take the room with the balcony however if he didn't have one with a balcony then would I get a special balconyless discont. He replied straight back and said he didn't give discounts in high season but as I had such a good sense of humour he would only charge me 850bht per day, which would save me enough to get the taxi free to and from the airport.
What a star, all the other hotels I was looking at were about 1500 to 1800bt and quite a few were fully booked. Means he has also just about saved me the cost of a lt each day or drinks each night, excellent, now to find a way to find a way to also save enough to fund the bell ringing bills!!!
