Patong Resort

I am booked at Patong Resort (208 Raj-Uthit, 200 Pee Rd.) in Jan. Would anyone have any info. on their guest policy. I don't mind paying a joiner fee but I want to make sure they are not completely guest un-friendly.

Also, love this board. So much help.

Hi Riodejo, I am staying in the same hotel next week so I will let you know the story in good time for your arrival. I have never stayed there before but it should be fine. I normally book a hotel for the first couple of nights of my stay then if I am happy with it I will extend my stay. Works for me everytime, and if it isnt to my liking I will go find another one.

However if you come accross any info please do let me know.

Patong Resort Hotel - Joiner fee

I called the hotel and they advised me that an overnight guest charge was 500 baht per person. Not too bad. The guest is required to leave her ID card with security. Let me know if this is your experience. Thanks.

Cheers for the info, I didnt realize there was a joiner fee. When I booked online through some internet booking company I booked a double room and I made up a name for the second guest so technically they cant charge me extra. If I only stay for 2 nights I wont argue with them but if I stay for 2 weeks I will definitley clear this issue up with them.

Even though it is a bit of a pain in the ass when the girl has to leave in their id card etc I dont really mind because it does give you piece of mind in case she decides to pinch a few valubles while you are zzzzzzzzzzzzzzz!!

I will post the post and keep you posted!!!!!

Yes they will, if your nightly guest's name isnt the same as the name they have on record. If a hotel has a joiners fee policy, it is difficult to get around it, but not impossible.

Hey Riodejo,
If you are still checking this thread, I stayed in the Patong Resort and was not happy with it at all. My room was a long way from reception which was a pain in the ass cos I would leave my key with reception. Anyhow the rooms were not great and no remote for TV, had 2 single beds when I booked a 'Double Room'. Staff were ok but not your typical very welcoming smiling Thai staff. They are not girl friendly and........... will I keep going?????

Perhaps other BM's have had good experiences in different rooms. I cancelled my second night and went to the Salathai. Can't fault it in anyway.

Have a good trip.

Patong resort... stayed there a few times on initial package trips to thailand.
the standard rooms are well.... very standard.
Anything above this should be ok.
Guards will take ID at the gate, and if her name is not on their list for your room, they will hit you for 500 baht.
Also this hotel suffers from a real walk of shame. Looks from staff, and its a real family and couples hotel.

For the 500 baht joiner fee, i would take that and go and rent a room in soi sansabai or elsewhere. less hassle and more welcoming of you and your girl
