I have flown with Tiger Airways, and they were OK. I believe that as they are a Singapore registered company, they do have a certain level of customer relations, whereas the likes of Nok Air, which are Thai, they normally dont have the same level of customer relations which we expect in the western world.
Then you have the likes of JetStar Asia, which the major shoreholder is Qantas. They are not going to allow their good name to be tarnished by bad customer experiences. I have heard very little bad experiences from Tiger Airways and JetStart Asia.
By all means give the LCC (Low Cost Carriers) a go, but just make sure you have time up your sleeve, and dont rely on making an International connection straight off an LCC flight.
Also remember that after arriving off one of these LCC flights and you are connecting to another flight, you must allow time for you to collect your luggage and then recheck in for your next flight, even if it is domestic to domestic.
Personally, I tend to stick to the full service carriers.
