Air Asia
Heard loads of complaints while over recently about Air Asia cancelling peoples flights by SMS a day or 2 before they were due to fly.
Also Nok Air now being called "no-care"!

Do you know what routes people complain about?

It always surprises me when people complain about a service or lack there off, which they have paid next to nothing for, its the old saying, "You get what you pay for"

I was ok with TG but people other people had their Udon Thani to BKK flight cancelled at very short notice. Sounds like it could be any route from what they were saying.
No matter how little you pay you expect a minimum level of service.

I agree with that last statement.
I believe that new laws in the UK will force Low Cost Carriers to pay higher compensation for cancelled/delayed flights. The LCCs in turn say that they will have to put their prices up because of this. But if that then reflects a true cost of providing the service then maybe the service will improve.
I don't see the point of airline companies trying to provide a service at impossibly low fares.

Ok, Udon Thani to BKK is probably not a very busy route.
Phuket-Bangkok, Phuket-Kuala Lumpur has worked fine for me and one time it was delayed 30 minutes or so, and for the cheap ticket I get I cant complain.
But I fully understand those who get a flight cancelled, must be very disappointing.

Steve I could not agree with you more. Air Asia and the other LLCs have saved me literally hundreds of thousands of Baht over the past few years and have allowed me to travel Asia at a whim. You can not pay 25% of the large carriers ticket price and expect the service to be the same, and yet 90% of the time you will find that they do manage to match the large carriers service.
<analogy>
If you decided to save 75% of the airport-hotel taxi fare by taking a motorcycle taxi do not complain about the bugs in your teeth.
</analogy>

I would be amazed if every airline in existence did not have the same cover-all clauses. It still doesn't help the poor sods whose plane doesn't fly and they miss onward connections to KL, Indonesia etc for which Air Asia will not accept the blame.

i don't think you can beat bangkok air for reliability when it comes to internal flights. i've used them many times and not once have i been a second late and the service at the air port and on board has been superb. i good a flight for me and my my mate leaving from Pattaya (U Tapao) on 30th dec to sumui rtn on 2nd jan for THB 5000 each. not to much money really, i'm going for new year i think it's a great price. i hope it's on-time and not cancalled now i have said this. 555555

A few people knock Bangkok Air but I've never had a problem with them, though they do seem to be more expensive than most.

No-one was claiming it was, just saying that I've always had a good travel experience with them.

Airlines
I used Air Asia 2 times on BKK-HKT route. First flight was on time but the second one had 1 hour delay (thank God otherwise we missed the plane due to awful traffic jam). So I don't have to complain about Air Asia. 299 B for a one way Bangkok-Phuket flight is a great deal!
I travelled with Bangkok Airways plenty of times on various destinations (CNX-THS, BKK-SMU, HKT-UTP, HKT-BKK). I like their ATR-72 but I really hate their Boeing 717 that I think too noisy. On the BKK-HKT route, I rather prefer paying a few hundreds bahts more, fly with Thai and get my miles or fly with Air Asia for a lower fare. Service is very good with Bangkok airways. They offer now refreshments to all their passengers in airports. And I think their hostesses are more cute than the ones from THAI ;-)
Thai Airways is one of my all time favourite airlines. I used their services on domestic routes (mainly BKK-HKT) and had never a delayed or cancelled flight, only one rough landing in Phuket one time.
I never used Nok Air ("No Care" as people used to say) nor Orient Thai and would rather avoid Phuket Air.
Regards,
Bobby
