Anyone know a company that does flights to Bali from Bangkok.The usual boys, Thai, Malaysian and Singapore charge an arm and a leg.

Have you tried direct from the airlines? E.g. Thai Air BKK-DPS

http://www.thaiairways.com/: THB15115 => £214

Same probably applies to other airlines. However the above eaxample has to be purchased in the country of departure, so either leave to last minute or have tickets delivered to BKK hotel or use BKK agent/BM.

Just a thought.

My brother just did 2 people next sat from Phukers to Bali va Sing for 17k for 2 people.. So 8500 baht each !!! return !!!

Tiger air to Sing and Singapore air (they have a special on of Sing to bali return for 80 sing currently) to Bali.. some restrictions..

I think he is throwing away return tickets at that price..

You can also go via KL with AirAsia did this August last year from Phuket and was fine. Loved the place - planning on going back very soon

I was there in May. Enjoyed the first few days but then wished I was in Thailand. The food,people etc were all pretty bland compared to LOS

Different strokes.. Bali (like all of indo) is simply more fcuked up than Thailand but feels to me like it has stronger roots to its culture or maybe that they hold onto thier culture stronger and are less westernised.. Some of the temples and areas around the island make for great random daytrips..

I find Bali a lot cheaper to stay long term on but forget broadband or the convienience of Phuket..

Also Bali has waves for surfers phuket has girls for mongers.. Kuta is a major hassle zone but does have some good club life and I can handle hussle, even enjoy it short term..

The bombings have devastated the economy of the place (again) the hardship that the local ethnic hindu population are suffereing due to the bombing is a tough thing...
