Newbie nees a hotel
I will be arriving at HKT about 1700 on 22 Feb, will depart on 28 Feb. Believe it or not I have a business reason to go to the LOS. Will be spending a lot of time in Patong but do not wish to miss out on the, er, softer attractions.
My contact tells me: "Kata or Karon are your best bets. Patong is where all the action is, but it's the hardest to get hotels at too. And, they charge extra for extras." So I humbly solicit input.

Patong Hotels late Feb.
By the time you come towards end of February there will be plenty of rooms available.You can shop around for something in Patong using this site.
 If you stay in Karon or Kata then you have the twice nightly hassle of getting a Tuk Tuk ride and all the costs.One way from Karon is currently 200 Baht.To get to Kata some are charging 400 Baht.

Plus girls in Patong often dont want to leave town and will need some extra taxi money to make up for the return journey..
If your here for the nighlife stay close to the nighlife..
