Need Hotel From Late-Jan to Mid-Feb

This will be my second tour (looking forward to finally meeting a few BMs at MTB, by the way!). Stayed at Greenview Resort on both previous visits. In short, it was fantastic the first time around, but rather crappy the next).

Can anyone recommend a hotel similiar to GVR? I paid 500 baht/night last time as a discount for staying three straight weeks--the same duration of my upcoming tour. I prefer a place with a pool that's just a bit off the beaten path from Bangla as I always rent a scooter while in Phuket anyway.

If no other choices, I suppose I'll just show up completely cold and unbooked at GVR and hope for the best--just like last tour! Have had no luck contacting them via the Internet. Yes, I have searched this site extensively re hotels (and that's been very helpful) but would appreciate any additional and up-to-date info/recommendations other BMs may have.

If you can get a 500baht per night hotel in Patong that you are happy with I would say grab it.

500 small ones gives you Guest Houses some of them have rooms with better
standard of those calling themselves hotels
