Budget airlines
On farang web sites we have things like ebookers, opido, cheapest flights etc etc
who once you have entered your destination details and dates, will give you a list of available cheap flights, all very good.
but do any of you know of a Thailand based site that does the same sort of thing ?
every time i have tried on sites like the ones above they all insist on your start point being the UK .

You mean like Zuji, don't think they have a regional website in LOS.

Hi E-T-V,
I just checked on www.opodo.co.uk and it didn't specilfy that i had to start from the UK. As an example I put in a flight to/from Phuket + Singapore and got details, prices etc.
Also, try doing a google search with "thai travel agent" + "phuket", I got quite a few Thai travel agents up when I looked at the list, obviously there was a lot of other travel agents advertising trips to Phuket as well !!
Good luck

Diz i tried this with a thai travel agent with my journey beginning UK, they said they werent allowed to issue tickets this way.
Why, well i was pricing emirates, Gla-BKK, UK price £560 return, BKK-Gla, 29800 baht return around £420
Never really oursued the matter at the time but would be interested to find if it can be done as big saving are available i reckon if u can use agents from other countries
As soon as ur UK located mean its prime to rip u off price wise

The reason being as most Asian countries, including Thailand, prohibit the practise of giving credit card numbers over the phone or anyother electronic means. I was told that is a restricted imposed by the banks, I guess its a good thing.
One thing you can do, which I did years ago, is to buy a one way ticket to Thailand, and then buy a return ticket back home while in Thailand. Only thing here you need to be aware of, is that you maybe required to show a visa or a ticket to exit Thailand, when checking in for the journey back to Thailand on the ticket you purchased in Thailand. If I wasnt travelling on a visa, I would just purchase a one way Bangkok/Penang or someother cheap ticket, and then cancel it and get a refund.
Years ago a business class return to Sydney from Bangkok used to be about AUD$1000 cheaper when brought in Thailand, but these days have gone as the airlines have woken up to this, and have closed the gap.

Just a quick one on Opodo, I enquired with them via thier site with regard to flying to BKK via Amman, Jordan and could they arrange for me to pick up my tickets in Jordan on arrival from Baghdad. They said they could do that for me no problem. Seem quite switched on. I used them on my last trip over and the service was very good. (Right Opodo - send your cheque to Mr Sexy Bastard c/o Al Mansour, Baghdad, Dollars will be fine, thanks!)

From Singapore: (fare quoted in Singapore $)
www.zuji.com.sg
From Thailand:
You can check fares from these web sites. They will give you a rough idea of the market price:
