Place to Stay in Phuket in May !!
How is the weather in MAY to visit Phuket and Phi Phi Island ?
Where to Stay in both places with Budget Prices ?
Is Diving and Snorkling activites are worth it ? or One should just stick with the BEACH and Local Temple Tours ?
Any valuable feedback will be appericiated.
Thanks,

Phuket is fairly quiet in May so there will be lots of places to stay in that will not cost a lot. Best thing to do I think, is have a browse round the forum for ideas as what some might consider to be good, mught not appeal to others and you haven't really given much info as to what you're looking for, apart from cheap.
I can't help on diving or Phi Phi, don't do it and not been there.
Good luck

Weather is changeable at that time but normally OK

Low season everywhere will be doing cheaper rates.

Most of the great diving is at the Similans, the diving on the other side of the island is "so-so" There are a couple of boats that still try to operate in May, but most of them shut down for the season.
Try this web site: http://www.sunrise-divers.com/index.htm
I have used them before, and have had no trouble.
"The Junk" also operates during that time of year..
If you want day trips, be prepared for some spotty vis, as the best diving in in the last part of the year.
Report back and let us know.

Hotel Requiremnts for Phuket
Looking for Hotel/Place :
---------------------------- - Close to beach (Most Important)
- Away from night life rush and Ferry Port.
- Safe and Comfortable.
- Reasonably Priced (Need 1 Room ).
For Phi Phi Hotels same criteria applies.
Thanks,

Close to beach (Most Important)[*]Away from night life rush and Ferry Port.
How far from the nightlife do you want to be and how much do you want to spend? Walking distance but quiet--Patong Villa Bungalows or Salathai---Patong but tuk tuk ride---Other BM's can suggest something, Stoney Monday comes to mind---other beach area--- Peach Hill.
Better to be in Patong and walking distance save money on transportation.
PVB and Salathai are 2 or 3 blocks from beach
Safe and Comfortable.
Reasonably Priced (Need 1 Room )
For Phi Phi Hotels same criteria applies.

The daytrip dive operators are in business all year round. Depending on the weather, there is still some great diving to be had around Phuket. I would not go to the Similans, regardless of whether boats are going out there or not, because if the weather does blow up there is nowhere out there to shelter and it is a long gauntlet to run to get back to the sheltered east side of Phuket.
I'd forget all about the beach too. All the best beaches on the island face west or southwest and are fully exposed to the worst of our weather at that time of year.

Beaches OK
Generally in May the beaches are still in use.The only time the west facing beaches are not usable is if there is a major storm coming in.Several beaches have notorious 'rip tides' (Karon and Surin) so pay attention to the beach warning flags.
For value for money and good night life Patong Beach will probable be the best for you.
Diving and snorkelling are best on Phi Phi at this time but the day trip dives from Phuket are still good.
