Denver, I stayed at Neptuna Hotel Oct'05 and found it very pleasant. Very close to some great seafood restaurants, new beer bar soi next door ( don't know the name) and within walking distance to Bangla Rd. The music from the disco next door had me bangin' my BG in time with the beat but you may never actually see it open with the agenda you seem to have. Guest friendly, reasonable value (about 1000Bt/night in low season) and very friendly staff. Rooms are bungalow style with a huge bed. It's interesting to watch the girls going to the Western Union across the road pick up their "pensions" whilst having breakfast.

neptuna hotel
Thats right.. i stayed there for my last 2 trips.. even got the same room
perfect distance to everywhere. atm machine just 10 meters from the reception where the safeboxes are so you dont have to run around with your cards. and seven eleven is close also. a walk to bangla is via the shortcut behind tiger done in 2-3 min .. now there is a internet cafe close there also.
Beds are huge and good and they clean up fine.. the downside might be the toilets.. with that heating unit to the shower.. mine has not broken down yet there but my friend had one that did not work but they changed it right away to him.. the toilets arent small but there is no bathtub..
The best located rooms would be 110-114 as they are infront of the small pool.. in the garden. great to have a swim in the afternoon or with your lady after coming home from the party I paid 600bht a day in low season and 1500bht peak season but it was for a 4 week stay and a 3 week stay.
Great staff.. feels like coming home

Visa, Mav, Tim
Thanks for taking the time to post the information, it's appreciated.
I will have a chat with Neptune about those rooms 110-114 as I do like to chill by the pool with my music and my book in the afternoons.
One of my reasons for looking for a move is the bass from probably Seadragon at Patong Villa, I never used to notice it but did on this last trip. I know it's understandable that if you want to live right on top of the action that a bit of overspill music is going to come with that, so when you mention I may get the same from Dragon at Neptune.............Ah well, lifes too short for niff, naff and trivia, I'm on me holidays!!! I may just check it out for the change of scene.
Like you say, I might as well be in the disco as laying in bed listening to it!
Thanks again Fellas, I owe you a beer

i used to stat at the casuarina resort, at the northern end of patong beach but the tsunami destroyed it... no i can stay at the andaman beach suites near the soccer field. my aunt owns an apartment there. the staff is very friendly and never had to pay a jf. the pool is ok but not spectacular but you can use the pool at the andaman beach hotel wich is great.

5555555555 I hear ya Faulty!
I was just pondering a change of scene and contacted these places because:
1. They have a pool which you know is important to me.
2. Good recent recommends and comments from BM's (Tim, Mav, Visa)
3. They have an 'Info' link on thier websites which I have used.
No response yet, but then again, nothing unusual there. Patong Villa have got back to me and given me a good rate for return business but I was thinking of a change, I've not got flights yet but no harm in planning ahead.
Summer Breeze looks great but no pool and.............bloody hell, I've forgotten it's name!! Getting old...........is a bit far out down Nanai Road but I will be looking at it with a view to a long term (12 months+) rental if I ever get back again! I am in Athens in March now teaching a course which has buggered up my plans a wee bit, never say never though!

55555555555 Well I was told Athens! It is now Thessaloniki (I've never been!)
......................and why is your speech bubble coming out of the fattest man in the picture? OK, no need to answer that.
Got to love that uniform! Efgharisto!
Anyone stayed at the Begonia Wing K-Hotel? It's on Rat-U-Thit near the KFC and has a pool! 900 Baht the whole of April.

Thanks for that Mav, I'm not one for swimming lengths, just flopping around like dying fish! As long as there is enough room for my body mass and maybe one other! then that is enough for me!
They still haven't answered my enquiry with regard to room availability, joiner fee and airport pick up. I'll try again later today. Thanks again Mav.

Denver,if you are looking for a change to the PVilla, have a look at the JintanaPatong. Its in Soi Jintana off Rat u Thit Rd just before Sawatdirak Road, same side.
Its got a real nice pool, guest friendly, and although the rates have increased since I stayed there, booking by the week I think its around B1100 a night.
heres a link

Oh your mate S1mon the Seagull likes the place.

Tried to get into Jintana 3 times now but each time it has been fully booked..........September + Xmas/NY last year were both full about 6 weeks out........and this coming Songkran week..........tried about 2 weeks ago
It must be good to be booked out so far in advance..............if ever I can get my act together sooner i mean to give it a try......mostly on Dawsey and Simon's recommendations and a good website presentation from R24
Got Expat for Songkran as a back up if all else fails....for the same price

This was bought in bcoz a lot of the girls were getting too excited by the site of a semi naked Sir Gez lazing by the pool, making Sean Connery look like Mr Bean.

Understandable about Sir Gez! Mav, wouldn't want that pool spilling over because the girls are getting too many gusset commotions! Tch!
Jintana looks good and I may drip (It's Gez again!) I meant Drop them a line later today and see what they have available. Thanks Dawsey, bit concerned about those Nobby Clarks they have swimming around in the pool on thier website! (See Pic)
Thanks Petter, I must be doing something wrong in my email to them, I never could spoke proper England, ever since I were a children!
Patong Villa have given me another slight reduction! Tch! Must be the cleaners pressurising Surasak, desperate to get me back because I leave a good tip and like watching me in the shower in the morning through the curtains! Understandable!
Off to Thessaloniki in Macedonia (Working, it started off as Athens!) next month and trying to get back to Baghdad to enable my plans to come together. It's becoming a bit of a pain in the neck right now but will have to put at least one reservation in now as it would seem places are beginning to fill.
Thanks again for the advice and it's all good stuff for Werwolfs list

Here's the link to the Begonia Wing Hotel, 900 Baht for a standard room through April if booked through the first link. Just wondering if anyone has been or knows of anyone who has been. Looks OK for the price.

I thought they might be Nobby Clarks (Sharks! ) That's why I'm not staying there.
Too much hassle on holiday diving into the pool with a knife between my teeth and fighting huge aquatic biting machines before brekkie! Tch! I've a hard enough time fighting off the women!
Frogmen 55555555555555 Not heard that for ages Steve!
Faulty, you just know you are right off my Christmas card list now!

I am staying at Jintana from April 7-21 at least. And then there really be frogmen in the pool. And don't worry Denver you won't need your knife, just your bottle opener.
