hilltop hotel

I have searched the forum, but couldn't see any reference to the walking distance to Patong itself from the Hilltop hotel.also there is no mention of this hotel recently, and am wondering whether it would still be a good place to stayin October?
cheers laflafs

Yea, the "hilltop" part sort of gives it away.

At least you'll stay fit!!!

Cool Quite a hike

The Hilltop Hotel is in the high ground on the Ha Sip Pee Road.Tuk Tuks will probably charge you an arm and a leg to go there late at night.I have heard it's a great place but a little too far out of town for my taste.

Ask them if they run a hotel taxi service for guests.

I rented an apartment up Hasip Pee Rd in Sept last year for a month, a few hundred meters further up the hill from the main road.

The apartment was fine but we moved back down into the town as it was just too far away from everything. Not so much for nightlife and getting home, but everyday runs to 7/11 and just popping out to do something. It's not actually that far, but getting up and down that hill every time got to be a pain.

Plus sides are you are out of the way and it is very peaceful if you want it like that, the views up there are great as well.

To be up there you 100% for sure need to have a bike.. Not many passing tuk tuks etc.. Big fcuk off hill..

I actually like it up there.. Some very cheap rooms low season.. Nice sea breeze.. Bit cooler than in town.. 2 mins ride to anything..

Ive been visiting a friend that stayed up there, and a bunch of Norwegians rented the whole place for christmas eve. Its really nice, but I wouldnet stay there for anything in the world. As said before there are no tuk-tuks up there, and if you rent a motorbike you would probably kill yourself in that crazy hill-road back from town..............................but if you want a quiet hotel-holiday, the place is perfect.

The Hilltop is a very attractive hotel with super service and stunning views. But as said before, its location is remote and peaceful. When you are after bars and girls around the corner from your hotelroom, the Hilltop is not the right place. But when you want a boutique style place at reasonable cost, and you can handle the few minutes drive down and up the hill every time, itīs a good place to be.
