Just came back, thought it might be nice to do a review on this for the benefit of all others in future.

Royal paradise is the tallest hotel in patong that offers an excellent view for the whole of patong. From my view on the 17th floor, i can see the whole of patong beach, including the sea where i can see people paragliding, speedboats and even singapore's luxurious cruise Superstar Virgo parked in the sea.

Rooms are spacious and clean and towers are clean as well. Receptionists are friendly and speaks good english and they have a very nice lobby area with a nice pool for swimming. Breakfast spread is fantastic and basically its very well worth every cent you are paying for.

It is also located just 3 mins walk away from Bangla Road, where all the heart of the action is. Overall its an excellent place to stay for family goers with their clean and big rooms, good service and excellent location.

Just watch out for the "gays" and lady boys that hang around that soi near there.

Sorry not sure about joiner fees as i never tried. But probably you have to.

And yes right smack in front of the hotel you have an area full of gay pubs, massages etc. It was interesting actually, to see them strut their stuff at nite. They are relatively tame actually. I walk pass alone few times at nite and at most they will ask you if you wanna go into their pub and you just walk straight or say no to them polietly and they will leave you alone. So no problem with that at all

They are less tame at about 6 am / dawn when they havent still found a punter..

I remember the Ranong visa run bus sets off from there at 6 and the shrieking aggressive katoeys coming and grabbing your nuts was all a little too much when I hadnt even had my 2nd cup of coffee..

Imagine Alfie doing that Visa run......he would hire the whole bus and take all the Katoeys with him.

Actually that confused one of the poor yaba addled lad(ie)s..

Asked 'I *** wit yooo' I replied 'sure.. buy a ticket off him' and proceeded to get on the bus...

You should have been a gentleman and made an offer for her to sit on your lap and save a fare
