I am going to stay 50 days in LOS and i will have to do a visa run.
I dont know if this is of any importance at all, but what date do i set as departure on the card? The real date for leaving and going home or the date for the visa run after 30 days?

There is no departure date field on the card, just write 30 in the days field.

couldn,t you get a 60 day tourist visa before going,--- from the thai embassy in your own country?go to the thai embassy web-site and print off the online form then send it .,and payment and p.port to them ?

You may write 2 days or 200 or any amount of days you like....but the stamp
will tell you to leave the kingdom after 30 days...Best deal is a 3 month visa
from any Thai Embassy

I am aware of the 60 day visa, but i am thinking of a side trip anyway so i think i am better of whitout one. Otherwise i will probaby get stuck in Patong as usual

I never fill the departure card when I enter Thailand as I have no scheduled plans and could do for instance, a city trip to KL with my girlfriend. I just fill it when I leave the Kingdom.
By the way, I noticed that my arrival card has changed this time (i.e.: no lenght of stay nor yearly income fields).
