Phket Hotels Info
Hello everyone, I was wondering if you could help me.
I have never been in Thailand before and I am traveling to Phuket at the end of April.
I am trying to book a hotel, but I do not know which area I should pick. I am looking to stay in a nice beach resort so I can lay at the beach the whole day.
My problem is that I do not know which area is the best to stay in. I saw beautiful hotels in kata beach, but I heard that patong beach is better because everything is located there.
I was wondering if you could help me decide where I should stay (Patong , Kata, or somewhere else)?
My concerns are these:
If I book a hotel in Kata beach, maybe I will be too far from all the tourist places. What I liked about kata beach is that in the pictures looks really beautiful and clean. Patong does not look like that, at least in the pictures. Maybe I did not see the good pictures. I do not even know if Kata beach has nice places to walk around in the afternoon or not.
If I book a hotel in patong beach, I am afraid that the beach is not going to be as beautiful as the one in kata beach. Could you please give me a hand? I would really appreciate any help that you could provide.
I have seen these hotels that I like, could anyone give me an opinion about them? Could you guys tell me if you know a better hotel?

i would suggest karon beach for you. its between patong and kata. it will cost you 200-250 for a tuk tuk each way to go into patong at night. there are bars in karon and kata but a little more quiet.
i have stayed in both kata and karon and think youd enjoy both

Thanks
Thanks a lot for the tip. Is Karon beach really far from Patong. Why you do not recommend Patong? Do you recommend any good resort? Thanks so much for your time.

I got it seafox, thank you very much.
I just sent you the following message. Maybe you guys can help me.
Hello Seafox,
"Thanks for the tip. I really appreciate it. I have another question, how far away is Karon from Patong?
I am planning to take some girls to my hotel, but I also want to be able to relax during the day in a nice resort. I have a budget for my hotel of 60 to 80 dollars a night.
I read on internet that all the hotels on patong beach are not right on the beach. They are separated from the beach by a street. I saw on that only the amari hotel, patong bay garden resort, and the Thavorn beach village are on the beach. I looked at these hotels and it does not seem like they are really cool hotels. They do not look as good as the ones in Karon beach. Do you know if any of these hotels are good and luxurious?"

Sory but amari and Thavorn are not on the beach in Patong. Bay garden is, as well as Impiana Phuket Cabana, Patong Beach bungalows and Patong beach Resortel. Sala Thai may be closer to the beach than Amari.

I would just enjoy your stay and mot worry to much
Kata and Karon are walking distance (the length of Karon Beach) and to Patong is just a short ride in a tuk tuk (or taxi that will be same price but more comfy sometimes)

Well there is enough action in Karon, just a lot more in Patong but then also a lot more competition
Guys lets not push everyone to Patong. Beachlife and holiday can be more fun in Karon/Kata and from there it is so easy to get to Patong
It is just more relaxed and less pushy in Kata /Karon then in Patong. Both have there charms

Hi guys,
It seems like all the hotels at Karon and Patong are separated from the beach by a street.
I wanted to book the Hilton or crown plaza in Karon beach, but they informed me that they were not right at the beach.
Could someone please tell me if this street is only a pedestrian street or is a street for cars?
Does someone recommends the Karon Beach Resort? Is this hotel good and beautiful like the other resorts like the crown plaza and the Hilton?
You have really been helpful and I want to thank you.

The Hilton is not guest friendly, it will cost you more to get a girl in the hotel than it will to get the girl. You wanted to stay in a hotel for $60-$80 a night and it will cost that much to bring a girl there per night.
Wampi, I already told you where to stay, Marina Phuket, girl friendly, right next to beach, has a walkway down the resort grounds that opens right on the beach, right on the beach. Very night hotel with private bungalows. No charge for bringing a lady over. Some bars and restaurants rights next to the hotel. www.marinaphuket.com. Look at the pictures.
The Hilton is a huge hotel with multiple wings and it can be a very long walk from the hotel to the beach. I stayed there in October 2001. There is a small road, 1 lane each way that is between the beach and the hotel.
