lene, seeing as your top tier FF, dropping the question at checkin wont hurt, but bear in mind that SIN/HKG is a busy sector. And SQ arent particularly known for giving away upgrades.

Bloody hell if KE went around I sure as hell wouldnt want to be in the middle of that. Those guys dont go around for too much. Thats sounds like an interesting ride, would've been fun sitting down the back.

mmm, panicking passengers - my company sent me on a flight safety awareness course at BAs training school near Heathrow. After coffee and biscuits they put us in a 737 cabinb simulator, we get the normal safety briefing, taxi out, and take off. Shortly after this, simulated smoke (talcom powder) starts coming out of a vent under my seat! Everyone is looking at me, as if i had lit a cigarette; anyway, we simulate an emergency landing and evacuate the simulator.
During the debrief, I asked the instructor, what would be the best action for me to take in that instance, for instance should I shout "Fire! Fire!"? He didn't seem to know - his answer was probably yes, but don't expect much response from the cabin staff, because they would be too busy!
It was an excellent half day course launching our selves down evacuation slides, and opening emergency exits, and all that sortr of stuff. As an added benefit - BA took all our names and executive club numbers, and are classes as ABPs (able bodied passengers) and as such are more lkely to be allocated seats near an emergency exit.
My one regret - we didnt get a chance to use the inertia reel that the flight crew have from the cockpit of the 747, now that would have been fun!
