Accomodation Help

Hi,

I'm new here ot the site and was hoping you could help me out.
My partner and I are going to Phuket later this year and cant decide between Merlin beach resort and Holiday Inn Resort. Any suggestions would be great. Thanks

Would think that their is not that much between them....more or less same location.....both have really nice pools etc.....flip a coin !

Both hotels are good and more or less beside each other.Depending on your taste and budget the Holiday Inn also has a high end delux wing.

Make sure the Merlin you are looking at is the one actually in Patong and not the new Merlin which is 3 miles out of town at Crystal Bay.

Actually:

Merlin Beach Resort -----> Chrystal Bay

Merlin Patong -----> Patong

Merlin Phuket ------> Phuket Town

Merlin Khao Lak ------> Khao Lak

So make sure you don't get them mixed up.
For couples that like to stay in a resort that has nice pools, i think Merlin Beach Resort is nicer then Merlin Patong, but for me Merlin Patong wins on the location, 3 nice pools and decent rooms

Fair enough about the last 2....but how does it win on the location compared to Holiday Inn ?

Thanks for all your suggestions, it was the merlin beach resort that we were looking at, i know its a little bit out but thought it looked awesome, might check out the other patong merlin ones... thanks again.

If you are after the peace and quiet then this is the one for you.The beach at Crystal bay has a little Rasta Bar on it and normally very few visitors.The hotel has full facilities and lays on a free shuttle bus into town several times a day for shopping etc.There are Tuk Tuk and Taxi services right outside the front and they have set piece fares into Patong.
The one in Patong is more convienent and right on a very packed beach,but, everything is in walking distance.
