Booking Hotels
What is the best online site to book Hotels in Phuket. I was going to use Asiarooms or Directrooms, anyone used these sites? and are they okay?

Hi Sandy..........I've used Asiarooms...and they were fine.........but mostly use R24 and Sawasdee as they have direct direct online bookings........so you know pretty soon if you will get the acommodation as requested......

Got to agree with Nelsonone here. R24 and Sawasdee are reliable. Directrooms are one of the cheapest.
The forum at the top of this page is fine as well.
Just one tip, once you have selected your hotel, have a look at the prices on at least half a dozen other web sites. It's surprising the saving you can make on booking with the cheapest.

A smart way to book is to use my Patong Map!
It's then easy to see where the hotel is located. If you then press on the
dot representing the hotel, you will be automaticly transfered to the R24
hotel booking system!
So don't risk to end up in the wrong location in Patong! Use the map when
you want to book!

Can anyone help with a hotel that is in the 1500 - 2000 range. I want it to have a nice pool and an in room safe. I have stayed at Sunset Beach Hotel in North Patong before but they are booked and the rate now is twice last years price. I don't want to listen the the throng of the bars all night if I want to sleep either.
I'm arriving tomorrow. Any suggestions?

I could only suggest, looking in the "Thailand Hotels", area. And...possibly making your arrangements, a little "earlier".

Thanks Pablo,
I was able to negotiate down from 3100 baht to 2100baht (no breakfast) at Sunset Beach Hotel. I never get up early enough to eat breakfast anyway. Nice hotel but outside of town a bit (5 min). The hotel has free transport to town every !/2 hour from 9 am.

Graceland Hotel
If anyone is interested i have just arrived back in the UK after apending 2 weeks at the Graceland Hotel right on the beach in Patong beach. The price on the internet for a Delux rooom was 4500 Baht.As the hotel is quite new it is usually only about 40% full. i just turned up and managed to do a deal for 2500 Baht a night.
Its a fantastic hotel with 2 great infinity swiming pools, one with a swim up bar, a gym and a superb 10 pin bowling room, which i had to myself most of the time.
3 pool tabels, and if anyone likes snooker your in for a treat 2 tabels in an oak panelled room. The staff are very helpful, Oh and the price includes breakfast.
Hope this may be of help to someone.

Pargy,
Werwolf has a thread running about BM's opinions of hotels and guesthouses , he collects the info and then adds it to a "stickie" at the top of the accomodation forum so that it is always there for eveyone to reference.
If you could post again in that thread , he will add your comments to his list.

PS. I'm guessing the hotel is not GF (Girl friendly) , if it is , could you please add "joiner fee".
