Trouble on board LTU flight
Passenger scuffle forces plane to divert
Fears of a full-scale brawl breaking out on board a plane bound for Bangkok forced pilots to divert the aircraft to the German city of Dusseldorf.
The captain called the trip off while in Ukraine airspace after a drunken male passenger went on a rampage causing chaos on board.
The Airbus jet, operated by German holiday airline LTU, had departed from Munich in Germany on Monday night with 212 passengers on board when the 45-year-old man began misbehaving.
One passenger reported that flight attendants managed to handcuff and bind the man and put him under a blanket to keep him calm, but said that he and his friends became angry when an emotional female passenger approached and punched him.
German police said the problematic passenger disembarked quietly at Dusseldorf, escorted by four police.
Passengers were accommodated in hotels overnight and the flight took off again, without the troublemaker, the following morning.

Man I would hate see those flight attendants.

I don't get it? Somehow, some people believe, that since they are on an airplane, and have purchased a ticket...they can behave badly, and get away with it! Certainly, this kind of behavior, would not be tolerated in a restaurant, bar, club, etc... The ramifications are much graver, however, in the "airborne" instance. It's not uncommon, nowadays to see "jail time", and serious $$$ fines, for this type of action. (hell, in the USA, maybe an "air marshal", will shoot you!)
And then, of course, the airline will certainly want reimbursement for the additional costs, of the diversion. Alcohol on airplanes???? Isn't there another thread, about just that?
(you can see from my new avatar, that I have had some experience, in misbehaving.)

Looks like it was all under control and then a woman causes more trouble, which leads to the flight being diverted. Jail both of them is my answer.

Was on a Thai flight out of bangkok back to perth a couple of trips ago when some turkey decided he wanted to get off and had to be restrained after shoving a hostie around and abusing some girls on the flight. He walked off at perth and it was only some weeks later that he was charged and fined. Customer service at thai air in perth admitted that they weren't going to press charges and only did so because of the large number of enquiries from people who were on the flight. Ultimately cost him about 3 grand, nowhere near enough in my opinion.

simple answer to this; ban booze on all flights and instigate a mandatory 5 year passport confiscation for anyone endangering a flight through violent behaviour.
