Question Phuket in June: Worth a Visit?

hi there,

me and my girlfriend from bkk are planning a trip to ko samui or phuket (that's what i prefer) for about 10-12 days. so this is my only vacation this year i'm planning to spend about 3000-4000 Bath per room per night.

My first question: Any recommendations? Should be a relaxing and luxurious vacation, but please no hotel in the middle of nowwhere. some restaurants and shops in walking distance would be fine.

My second question: Will there be much rain in the mid of june?

best regards,

badtaya77, who will spend after that trip 5 nights in pattaya alone

Well plenty of accommodation in both places for the price range.........even on Chaweng Beach and in a luxury end Phuket hotel (it is off season in Phuket so only the very top end should be out of your range)

Yes you could get rain in Phuket as it is at the start of the rainy season.......Samui doesn't get the same monsoon season as Phuket as it is on the other side of the mainland so it shouldn't be too affected by rain then.....however it can rain anytime in either of these places for long periods

Pattaya???????.........now who's a naughty boy then?????

Late June \ July is my favourite time of the year in Phuket. Reasonably quiet, reasonable prices and the weather is good.

I think it rained every day last time I was there, but just enough to freshen the place up a bit. Well worth a visit, yes.

In my experience, June is fine and you can get lucky with the weather as we sometimes get a "mini summer" - days on ened of beautiful sunshine but it's not guaranteed!

June 2005

Middle Weeks of June were good weather wise for me in 2005, worst days were heavy storm that prevented my arrival flight landing and a dark wet colder evening on the night I left. In between few heavy showers but sen worse in UK in June

If you want luxury and closeness to nightlife try Holiday Inn Busakorn wing. Studio rooms about 4000 a night including breakfast. It has one of the best pools of any resort and is very close to nightlife (5 min walk) and accross the road from the beach
