Eithad - new 777-300 ER's

Just saw some pics of the cabin on the new deliveries, looks very nice, and the main plus is they are only 9 abreast instead of the 10 abreast on Emirates.

This looks really good, and as i like more the one stop flight instead 11 hours non-stop it will be my next choice. And they are also most cheaper than others, so i give a go to me

No I am flying out on Saturday 1/4, did you have any changes to your return flight? my return flight to Abu Dhabi was cancelled and I am now having to fly home to Heathrow on a different flight which is a bit inconvenient 'cause my flight back to Aberdeen is from Gatwick...

No my return trip is unaffected except some of the times have changed a little.

Its a pity the Heathrow flight doesnt make the BKK connection as I far prefer to go from there.
See you in MTB

A warning to those of you travelling Etihad from Gatwick...last couple of months because of delivery delays for their new aircraft and new routes started, they have been using a wet-leased old Airbus from Iberworld (Spanish) to do the Gatwick - Abu Dhabi sector....and it is sh@t.

I've had the misfortune to fly on it a few times. It's laid out for package holiday type flights. Seat cushions are uncomfortable....poor leg room and no IFE in the seatbacks :-( I hope by the time you get to fly they will be using their own aircraft again.

It's QATAR for me.

That is not what I want to hear Thankfully the LGW - AUH sector is only 6hr 50min. I can put up with no TV,but I like some leg room, not that there is ever much in cattle class.

my gf flew with etihad in january from uk to bkk.she said it was her worst flight.it was not direct, she said the staff where not helpful to her,as she was alone and a bit nervous.she also said the cabin stank and was dirty, and the food awful.only good thing was the price.extremely cheap.

I also have heard this about Etihad being totally shit. Problem is, I wanted to go with Qatar from BKK to UK, but there are problems between their stop off and UK. for some reason they cna get me to whatever stopover point is, but not from there to UK. So I have had to go with etihad, and I think I am already regretting this before I have flown with them. Just got to rememebr to take lots of food with me.

Etihad are absolutely fine when it is their own aircraft and crew which it will be on from Abu Dhabi to BKK but the Iberworld Airbus is sh@te....Spanish crew.

they were still using it a few weeks ago but you might be lucky...maybe the lease has ended.

QATAR AIRWAYS for me tomorrow

According to my booking confirmation with Etihad, The Gatwick/Abu Dhabi leg of the journey is on the Boeing 777-300 and the Abu Dhabi leg on an Airbus A330-200, and the return journey is also with both aircraft.

Well,I have made 6 previous flights with Etihad, and I reckon they are a brilliant airline. Food great, new planes, good cabin staff, puntual flights and easy quick check in.
I'll see for myself Fri week.

Is your flight at 08:40? I've been looking for my new year flight and the Etihad is much cheaper than anything else. Usually I go from Heathrow, but might give Manchester a go next time. Problem is there is only one flight a day and it is early in the morning.

Accommodation at the airport seems a bit pricy, so I might get a taxi to the airport (90 miles) at 5:00 in the morning.

havn't booked it yet ,but soon.
a taxi to the airports gonna cost you £50,you can get a room at the britannia airport hotel for about£60 usually, free bus transfer.its not the best hotel in the world but it does for a meal,a couple of scoops and a kip.

Can't you get a National Express coach from Wales to Manchester Airport Gez?
They run all through the night from Bmth to Heathrow & Gatwick.
About 90miles to LHR is £26 return

Just did a review of the flights to bangkok and from bangkok by ethiad and I can tell you that the new 777 is a big improvement. The flight ahu bkk is normal economy. For people that are now flying to LHR, the flight to LGW is there but you will have a 15 hour wait in Abu Dhabi. That is no punishment as Etihad throws in a hotel lunch and dinner in abu dhabi which might be a nice day out.

Erik
