Malaysia Airlines
If I'm travelling home to the UK from Phuket via BKK(Thai Airways) and then Malaysia Airlines from BKK onwards through KL, does anyone know if I can get my boarding card for the MH flight at Phuket? It would certainly save having to pick up cases and check in again at BKK and could mean a later flight out of Phuket.

Yes I am 99.9% sure you can do this, Because both are members of Star Alliance, You will be able to check your bags all the way back to the UK from Phuket, But you will have to pass through immigration at Phuket, And pay the 500bt departure tax there, And then when you get to Bkk you will have to stay on the international transit side (You can not leave Bkk airport and come back etc..)... I have done this on return from my recent trip

Malaysian are'nt part of Star Alliance so will probably not check through luggage. If you havent yet booked why not get a one way Phuket-KL with Silk Air and save the routing via BKK? Silk will not check luggage through onto Malaysian but its an easy one hour direct flight and they do two flights a day so you should be able to link up with the long haul...
Just to add that Malysian are linked with Skyteam but not full members of that alliance yet.

Just booked yesterday! Never mind, I'm having a couple of days in Bangkok anyway on the way so no big problem.
Thanks anyway.

Silk Air fly Phuket/Singapore not KL. Only Air Asia and Malaysian fly Phuket/KL.
