'Discover Thai' air pass $169 info pls

Does anybody have knowledge of this:
Thai airways "discover thai" 3 internal flights for $169 in conjunction with ANY international flight (any carrier, not only Thai air).
My question: is it possible to buy the pass when in Thailand if your international ticket is shown? If anyone has purchased a pass how much extra is it for airport tax, insurance surcharge and 5% commision, all of which will bump up the price so dont know if it remains a good deal with the extra charges.

Does not seem to be that much of a good deal IMHO. Flights with a LCC seem to average about $25 - $30.

Yeah this was pointed out before but unless you are getting a Phuket to Chaing mai (counting a 2 flight bounce as one destination) or similar its not impressive..

Air asia can be under 1000 baht flights if booked in advance (like I assume most people would be here).. Bangkok air is 1850 IIRC for a HKT BKK leg.. Usually flights can be done on the main carriers with little prebooking for 2000 ish baht.

yea have looked at it a few times but always seem to book with bangkok air for internal flights and never had a problem.
have noticed there bangkok to samui flights are nearly always late.
