First time with BA
11 days before coming back to LOS
This time I will fly with BA from Heathrow to BKK.
As it will be the first time, maybe some of you can advice me if I need to change UK pounds to have a drink in the airport or if they accept euros.
I think BA is a good company. What about the food aboard? Are drinks free ?
Thanks

Bad luck, Steve. Do you have to pay for your HKG-BKK leg or do you get concessions with Cathay Pacific, as well?
Personally, I think food is sh1te on LHR-HKG, even in premium cabins.
I am flying out to HKG next Wednesday.

Hi Steve,
If you wanted to fly BA in 11 days, that probably means that we would have been in the same plane (7th April). A pity that we can not have our first beer of our trip together.
Thanks for the info. The consolation for you is you will be in LOS earlier.

unfortunately as i said its due to passenger loads.it would of been good to meet up for a beer.all i can recomend is you check in early as,as i said before all flights to bkk are already over booked on british airways right thru til mid april.i know all airline over book to cover for no shows, but i think they will end up putting people up in hotels as the flights are highly overbooked.
it has got to the point where they have told staff to avoid bkk as they wont get on.thats why i will goto hong kong instead.it has 3 flights a day instaed of the 1 to bkk, more chance of getting on.
have a good trip.

Thanks for the advice Steve. As I first fly from Brussels to London, I Will check in at about 5:45 pm in Belgium London time, so I hope it will be early enough to avoid this f*cking overbooking problem ... I wouldn't like to lose one minute in LOS

BA stards
I personally would not wish a long haul BA flight on my worst enemy. When I flew from London I found the cabin crew had an attitude and the food was low standard
It's all a means to an end - the end being the MTB so enjoy the free booze and never mind.

I hope you have a great flight Domi. Sorry to say that my flight back from BKK with BA on my last trip was a nightmare.
I have no idea where they got the crew from! I think they scraped up some old expat Brits from BKK and put them in uniform for a freebie back to the UK!
No choice of food, the cabin was dirty, entertainment system was broken with no apology. It's my National carrier so I don't make these comments lightly.
Anyway, enjoy it the best you can Domi, the benefits far out-weigh the flight IMHO. Safe journey.

I have to say that the BA09 \ BA10 from Heathrow is far and away my favourite route to Thailand.
I've flown BA\Qantas this way loads of times and never had any problems, luck of the draw I guess. Good luck with your flight Domi.
One thing I would mention is that I check straight through, get boarding passes for the BKK leg, in Manchester. If they can check you in for the flight you are very early and can get the seat you want.

Are you flying BA from Brussels to LHR Domi?
If you are, then they can check you,and your luggage through to BKK,although your flight from Brussels will arrive at Terminal 1or 2 and the BA to BKK will dep from T4 or 3

Hi Roger,
It will be SN Brussels to Heathrow - I arrive at T4 then BA to BKK and it's T4 too. Flight BA 9 at 2200.
Finally, Thai Airways to Phuket. I guess they will transfer automatically my luggage from plane to plane, it was the case when I travelled with Air France, but I know that if you come from Paris to HKT with China Airlines, you need to take it in BKK.
See you there, so

Don't assume that they will transfer your luggage Domi. Ask at check in at Brussels if they transfer to BA.
Also, I would guess you have to collect your luggage at BKK and take it yourself to Domestic departures. Please check with all your carriers as you may be surprised to find you have arrived without your luggage
I'm not 100% on, this but thats my take on it.
Looking forward to a few beers with you

See if you can check in online with www.ba.com from 24 hours before your flight. You will need your BA booking reference.

That's good advice Coolhand. I used it last time to get a half decent seat.
Normally the plane is half full by the time they put up your flight to be able to pick your seat from the ones left and needless to say the ones that potentially have a few inches of extra leg room are normally taken!
Might be work Domi taking a look there with his booking reference and getting a window or aisle. Nice one Coolhand. Not the biggest URL to remember! But I had forgotten it...................DER!

Thanks mates,
I will try to use their website to check in online... Anyway, even if the flight is not perfect, the only thing important is to arrive in paradise

If the Brussels/London sector is in the same booking as London/Bangkok, I doubt that you will be able to use online checkin for BA as it will your second sector. Give it a try though, but on SQ it wont let you.

I noticed that BA and Quantas are the cheapest options to fly to BKK from BRU. Personally, I don't use them as flying to LHR is just a waste of time. I really don't like BA. Never used Qantas.

Same same. I used BA on several occasions and have the same complaints concerning the staff. I really prefer British Midland on the BKK-LHR route.

Your luggage will be transferred to your final destination (HKT). But there are chances that you will not receive your boarding pass for the LHR-BKK and BKK-HKT flights in Brussels.
