Hmm so ive been thinking, if you went down with a bunch of friends and you hired a house for 2 weeks or so, what do you figure the price would land on? Would need to be about 4 rooms and a living room or something similiar and would be very nice with a pool too. (Around or close to Patong)

Been talking with a few friends who might wanna go down for 2-3 weeks while im down there. And if sharing the price for renting a house on 4 gets around the same range as renting a hotel room each, this may be an idea. And also nice for some partying!

i think its a good idea, especially for younger guys, i think in mid-season youd be able to get a place for 25-30k/mo, just have to look at all the real estate sites

From what I understand, short term house rental is pretty hard to come by.

Very very hard to find a rental house with pool, took me 2 years non stop trying..

I only know of one as I was trying to get him to rent it to me.. He makes more money renting it by the night or week for 2 - 3 months high season than he would to rent it to me all year at 70k (he didnt rent it in the end).. I dont know the exact numbers but it doesnt take a genuis to see that it would be huge price per month..

4 bed villa behind me with private pool furnished just came available.. was asking 100k per month and was rented in days of being available !! They took 90k per month but were paid 6 months cash up front..

Apartments with communual pool around Phuket beverly.. A Villa with one pool between 5 villas (hardly occupied) in a compound out of town wanted 80k per month for 6 months.. Apartments (2 bed) in the Kalim place were Sleesy lived were 40k with pool.. Basically pools cost a LOT to get near..

Doesnt sound very encouraging Lil. Well im sure we will have a great time even if we stay at a hotel somewhere but it would be ALOT of fun to share a house like that for a while, could throw some nice party's.

I think thats what the owners of high end villas are afraid of !!

The 'villa' rental market is just a totally different price point than the Patong rental market.. few hundred USD per night min !!!

Pools tend to be the defining factor between the normal end and the real luxury end.. Very little middle ground (Phuket Beverly I guess lands in the middle).. Theres another site I have seen with some more modest rentals but still 150 - 200 USD per night min..
