going mad trying to sort flights out !
hi guys .
having a few problems trying to get my flights sorted . .
incorporating a business trip in here as well to USA as i'm working at E3 expo..
London - Bangkok departing london 1st may ..
(BKK-HKT-BKK) book on arrival is easy
Bangkok - los angeles departing Bangkok 9th may
los angeles - london departing los angeles 15th may
i think i need to book as 3 seperate flights as there all sort of one way ..
have great problems getting any sensible prices off anyone ..
and searching for cheap flights on the net from a UK net connection is only throwing uk sites at me ,,, damn gogole and its sensing where i am !!
think best option is to book the UK-Los leg with a Uk company ..the LOS-USA leg with a thai company and the USA-UK leg with a usa company .. but finding the companies is proving a right real pain in the rear !!

Total costs under 800 pound including taxes (770 to be precise). Flight connection can be done same routes and times leaving bkk on the 8th at 21:00 and then arriving the 9th in LAX.

You should be looking at round the world fares. Star alliance have some good ones look here http://www.staralliance.com and click on "Airpasses". Buying tickets for each sector individually will cost you a bloody fortune.

Round the world trips mostly require 3 or more stop overs and will still be more expensive then the 870 that is showing now

got to make me laugh using expedia and other sites like it ..
i put it in as a multi leg trip and it prices it as £3000+
i do each bit alone and i get the prices as above ..
then on the LAX-LGW leg if i put in for a return ticket to LAX it cheaper than a one way ticket ..
northwest airlines .. LAX - GTW - LAX return $644
or one way LAX - GTW $1758
and the site then goes on about point of sale having to be in the USA ..wtf is that all about . lol
make me wonder ..
i'm going to have to book each leg as a seperate booking an hope that when i'v booked one it won;t cahgne its mind about the price on the next one .. rofl
also had a price of around £1100 (tax's inc) off statravel for a round the world ticket that deos not require stopovers ..
wtf to do :P
the main excercise here is i'm gettign a semi subsidided trip oit of the company as they will pay the cost of the BKK-LAX-LGW legs as they want me at E3 :P .. i get a cheap holiday to LOS for the £260 leg LGW-BKK .. if only i can bear the thought of the 20hour+ BKK - LAX leg after !!
alll this for 6 days back in LOS !!

Why not try Trailfinders or something? Websites can't handle tricky requests and you run a bit of a risk booking seperate legs, missing connections etc.

The flights i shown you were all individual one way legs booked at expedia.
Seems the way to go with these dates

As the prices are in dollars and you are buying a flight from LA to GTW they may presume you are from the usa, Also check if you are on expedia.com or expedia.co.uk it may make a difference.

this bit off northwest was direct off the northwest webby .. not expedia .. i had checked each airline that expedia quoted just to see if it was cheaper direct with the airline .. and then checked there return prices as well as sometimes it seems return is cheaper that one way due to offers ..

Seeing as your flying in with Thai, why not buy your BKK/HKT/BKK on Thai in London and then checkin at Heathrow straight thru to HKT. Saves heaps of hassles.

you were right steve. Thai at that period offers the HKT instead of BKK for 40 pounds more. Even air asia will cost you 30-50 pounds extra

You can book a BKK-HKT flight for 1600 Baht(incl. tax and surcharge) on Orient Thai or a few baht more on Nok Air. Very easy to book direct through their website with credit card altho if they have a problem with your credit card, you can do it over the phone. They have flights morning, midday, and evening, so it would be easy to make it fit with your arrival in BKK unless you are coming in at night. Flights to HKT are at 7:00(OT), 10:00(N), 14:00(OT), 16:35(N), and 8:15(OT). Nok is several hundred Baht more on their Sunday flight for some reason, but Orient Thai is the same price every day. I have flown Nok Air several times, and they are OK. Never have flown Orient Thai.
So it is 40 dollars vs. 40 pounds, a difference of about 15 beers! Of course, you will have to pick up your luggage in BKK, and take it to the Nok counter when you check in there.
Website to book Nok Air is www.nokair.com
Website to book Orient Thai is www.fly12go.com
