beach front hotel

Walk down Bangla, turn right and on your left there are a couple of places to stay. What are they called?

Hotels I know!!!!! But what are their names.

You can walk out if them and on to the beach.

I stayed at the Patong Bay Garden in September/October 2001, it's just across the street from Savoy Seafood Restaurant. Not so nice then, but was closed to be moderniest in the fall 2004. Then opened again a few days before christmas, and we all know what happened some days later.

Didn't stay there now in February, but went to their restaurant on the beach-side one evening with my family and friends. Looked very nice now! The owner is the son of the mayor in Patong, if I understood him right. I friendly guy with a lot of business in Patong.

Anyway, the hotel is very nice now, and it's situated on the beach side of Beach Road.

Thanks to all for help especially the links Diz. The prices are higher than what I would normally pay, but am thinking of treating myself during an out of season visit.

Cool

I just used some sites that I have on my list of Favourites so you could get anidea of what they were like looking at the pictures and descrptions etc. Perhaps you can get better prices if you search around a bit looking at other sites.

The Riviera advertises some rooms at 1,200 baht during high season

However according to the availability page on their site, all rooms are fully booked during Dec - Feb

As an aside, the EXPAT rates for the first 2 weeks in Jan 07 are 1,890 baht, compared to the 1,400 i was paying last year for the same 2 weeks.

looks like the hotels are gearing up for a very good peak season again.

The place I stay at, is just 800baht per night off season and looks just as good as any of those by the beach. Obviously you are paying for the location which is why it's more expensive.

You did visit that place I mentioned to you before yes ?? If you liked the look of it, why not send them an email now and book a room there ? No deposit required, which is not the case in most other places.

If you need the details again, just PM me.

Riviera have changed name!
New name is Tawan Beach House and can be found at my map!
Chose category Guesthouse&Small Hotel to find them!
Category Hotel with OnLine Booking will show You the rest!
And in may map there is the exact location! Dont trust
all hotels when they claim that the are close to the beach!
I have seen guesthouse close to Nanai saying there is three minutes walk
to the beach!

Apparently I have to call you lazy and tell you to look for yourself, otherwise I am showing you favouritism and we can't have that can we ??

So, I retract all the help and advice I gave and I am also going to destroy all those PM's that we sent each other.

Maybe then the nasty man in the other thread will stop calling me a complete twat ??

Or maybe you shouldn't have answered wango "in the other thread" at all.

I think it's a strange behaviour to answer your friends and flame others, when they have the same kind of questions.

But that's just me.

I read this forum for about 10 months before I started to post, and I always thought your post's have been very informative and helpful. One of the most respected BM's was my thought's about you. But lately I think your post's have been missing the spirit they were full of before. Not easy to explain this in english, but what I am trying to say is ; I wish you of all didn't have to be the first one to jump on the new BM's.

Now I go to bed and take coverage.

BTW,
I have an opinion because this is a forum with many different members, and I guess you are not the owner of it. It should be possible to ask a question without being flamed by people like you. He didn't ask you alone, he asked all the member's on this board, and if you have nothing better to say then you should not bother to answer. He didn't forced you to read his post, did he?

You are really showing the right colour of yourself, aren't you?
You can critize anyone you choose, and if someone has the nerve to do the same with you, then you tell them to fcuk off. What it is with some of you Senior Elite Members?

Well, don't be surprised next time you critize someone and you get the same answer, and then we all have a very cosy forum.

I agree 100% with BM The Gaffer, and it was great to see somebody answering the wailing from some of you Senior Elite Members. If my english was better I would have done it my self.

OK, I tell someone not to be so lazy and then I get read the riot act !! If you actually read what THE GAFFER says, he goes much further than I did with his flaming, but I'm still the one getting all the sh-it.

This is why I told you to fcuk off before. Why do you have to chip in and have an opinion on something that does not concern you ?? You are now guilty of flaming and making the situation much worse. Why should I or anyone else have to listen to you whining on ??

Plus, you're not exactly mr. goody two shows yourself are you ?? I have seen many instances of you going back and apologizing for your mistakes, so why do you feel that you have the right to have a go at me ??

But at least I apologized when I understand I say something that is not fair or right. I don't mean that it's up to me what you should say on this board, but to me you seem like a decent guy, and I am sure if you think about the first time you posted, you was a little bit nervous about how the other BM's was going to answer it. Me for sure remember my first post, it was the thread about beeing "married with a TGF", I was thinking about this for a long time before I posted it. This is a very tighten forum and a few BM's run the show 90% of the time. It is not easy for the guy's who want to be a part of this forum to find an interesting thread to start, and then they just ask a stupid question that probably has been asked 1000 times before. What happens then; Search the forum, this has been discussed ..................!

I don't want to make a fight with you, but I wish you and other's would think more about how to make this to be a great forum for all people who enjoy and love Thailand.

Cheers

Frode
