Too early to book?

I've got my flight booked for December 27th, nice and early to make sure I get a decent price. However I've e-mailed 2 hotels enquiring about availability for Dec/Jan and neither have answered me.

Also, one hotel that shows availability on a day by day basis is apparantly fully booked for all rooms for Dec, Jan and Feb. Maybe they have blocked it out because they are not yet taking bookings, or could they be fully booked already for those 3 months?

Any ideas?

Perhaps they have simply not checked their emails at this point..T.I.T after all and I have had experience of this myself. Might be either too busy or not checking as frequent due to low season approaching. I'm only speculating though.

If you don't hear anything within a few days then perhaps call them to ask why they have not responded.

Another reason why some are not taking bookings is because they have not set a new price for Dec/Jan... Im sure as soon as Songkran is over and done with they will start taking bookings as it will be a lot quieter then...

Good point young man

The ones that have set prices have definitely increased the fee The others will be trying to gauge what they charge if the peak season is going to be as busy as last year. Like BB says and taking your comment in account, I'll leave it a few weeks before e-mailing again.

Did I hear you were also making a low-season appearence?

Maybe in July?

Unfortunately not true. Well defo not July maybe September, depending on what the weather has been like here in the Summer. I get 10 weeks unpaid leave a year and intend taking 2 days a week off during June - August. So if the weather is cr@p I will go in to work and maybe by September I'll have enough time available to do a full month away, assuming they let me.

The jaunt to Pattaya in July sounds like a good trip and I wish I was there.

I'd ike to go to Patong in low season, as I want to compare the nightlife to the high season, especially the attitudes of the BGs to older folk like myself

I paid £460 and if I'd booked a week earlier it would have been £420. Just checked now and they are up to £500, but the same flight a day later (28th not 27th Dec) is going for £420.

These are all from London Heathrow, so are not much use to you are they?

Iv'e just looked at sawadee.com and R24 on this site they have rates for December & January now.

I only checked prices for Patong Villa & C&N they were there.

Last year i booked with sawadee in June paid a deposit and the rest in November.

Iv'e booked my flights To Bkk for xmas but not sure where to stay yet maybe xmas in Phuket and new year in Chiang mai or maybe the other way round I stayed in Phuket for both last year and it was too long in one place.
