austravel ...fly between 3 sept and 16 dec £389 from manchester....the cheapest i have seen for a few years

That is cheap. I paid 360 but had to give up 4000 airmiles as well.

I've honestly had nothing but good experiences with Air France. CDG is a pain as airports go but the flights, food, crew etc. have always been fine.

It might be worth keeping an eye on the following site, as they give details of what Travel Agents are currently offering, i.e. you don't have to shop around loads of sites, just go to one and look.
http://www.cheapflights.co.uk Below is a screen shot of part of a page showing current offers from LHR to BKK (http://www.cheapflights.co.uk/flights/Bangkok/Heathrow/) One good thing about this site is that you can get quotes from lots of different UK airports, not just the main London ones. As you can see below, it looks like Gulf Air are currently doing a promotion...
