Staff, i had no problems whatsoever with the staff in the hotel, all were nice and friendly, even though i went in there thinking they were going to be bad before i had even met them(due to some comments on this board)
Overall a nice hotel, no problems as have been stated previously on the board, no hassels but just slightly on the pricey side when compared to other hotels available.
I would consider it again but will not be at the top of my list.

Yeah I never stayed there S1mon but did get a look at the bungalows last Songkran, And thought the exact same as you about the place, Thought the place looked nice, Great pool but a bit on the pricey side.. Like especially when you compare the price of Patong Villa's with the C&N.. Even though the C&N does not have a pool, The rates for July are 600bt, Now compare that to the price at Patong Villa and you would be hard pressed to explain why that is....

I know a place that's central, very quiet, has a pool and is only 800baht off season (1,500baht peak)

Actually so do I..555555..
The Expat is one (I know thats not the one your thinking about) but I would not stay there as the rooms are old, And the whole place just looked a bit dirty to me... Also cant remember which one down Sansabai I seen (A bit drunk..55555), One of the orchids I think it was which also has access to the pool but still was not as good as the C&N... But I am sure there are a few that are better, I just have not found them yet...
PS: I swim like an "Anchor" so a pool is not much use to me...55555555..

None of the places in San Sabai has a pool as far as I know, they all advertise that there is one close by and that is a public pool at the end of the road which charges for access, but it's not much.
I am not a great swimmer (anymore) but it's nice to go and have a nice soak in the pool late morning, to help get rid of the odd hangover or two.

You can get the bungalows in Villa for 1400 Bath in July and and if you go for a standard room at Villa like the ones at c&n you get down to 1000-800 Bath

I was told they were 1000+ for the standard rooms in Patong villa during July.. If you could get them for 800bt, I suppose that would be probably worth while for the pool...

During Low season, most hotels are open to negotiation on the rates quoted, especially if they are nearly empty.

Thought that might be the case Dawsey, I remember on my first trip I had the Bungalow for the price of the Superior room at the time.

I am sure you have stayed there before Petter and thats why you can get better rates, If I tried in the C&N I could get them down to 550bt but cant be bothered, Its well worth paying 600bt a night...
One thing are the superior rooms much bigger than the newer rooms in the C&N as your paying double the price there effectively, Or is it just the pool that swings it for you?

55555 Yes, they are not the best at replying to emails, I will have a word when I go out there later this week if you want. PM your dates across if you wish me to book something for you.

Never stayd there did just send a mail and ask for some good prices for 4 weeks in July since many BM give it a good reputation.
Dont know where i gona stay, have used the c&n 12 times now and are little bored of the noice at that place.C&N have a great location but they are more and more slopy when it comes to who goes inn and out of that hotel.
The girls know the people at that hotel so good that they can go in and out when they want without showing any id.Every time it is some trouble at nights with jealousy or some young idiots who have to tell everybody how drunk he is when he comes home late night.Yes its cheap and clean and have some very nice people working there,i think i am on the first name with most of the people in that street but its maybee time to try something else and find a hotel you can sleep in quiet without beeing drunk every night.
C&N in my mind was diffrent for some years ago, nowdays the only argument
for using them is that they are cheapest, but hotel expenses is not what make your hollyday expensive, you maybee have to go up 200 Bath or so.
But never say never maybee i am back at c&n in July

Patong Villa Is great!
The Patong Villa is a fair good place to stay and I think the room rate is at Patong basic. If you take the great location, the large rooms and a really "guest friendly" staff in mind the room rates is not too expensive.
The only problem I have upon my stay there was when I checked out. The bill was ok but the reception staff want me to pay in cash and where not willing to take my payment in creditcards so after a long argue I went to the nearest ATM and took some fast cash to pay with.
The vendor problems can be solved if you buy a few items the first day of your stay, then they will not bother you again. Every body has to make a living, so can you afford a tour to Patong, you can also use 200 bath to buy a T-shirt or something similar. Then everybody is happy...
I have two girls with me in the room every night/day and nobody said a word to us. The travel counter was changing my Thai air ticket two times for me without any form for payment at all.
So on my next "alone" stay I will sure stay at Patong Villa again. But am I travelling with my girlfriend I think I will move a class up.
Happy stay.

we are there from 14 May to 2 June. Surasak has promised that the breakfast included is a hot breakie and not toast and jam as a previous post suggested.

Its probably my post you are referring to.
I too was promised 3x breakfast daily at 150baht,this is the continental breakfast of toast/jam coffee fruit and juice. The American breakfast is 240baht inc VAT and service charges and was added to my bill for the only one I had during my stay. To be honest, the American breakfast is very poor anyway and I far preferred the one from the food hall opposite Sawatdirak Rd on the beach side. Only 80baht and much nicer.
But if its just free Continental you are happy with, then its worth having

When we stayed at PV the breakie was Full Hot breakfast and was included in our room rate...it was very nice we liked the chicken fried rice...but we only made it to breakfast twice or three times in three weeks...could never get up and moving that early by 10.00am...LMAO

Thanks M&M. Last year was the same for my wife, Julie. I wake up regardless of the time we went to bed but Julie often slept in. I reckon she only managed 2/3 breakfasts in the two weeks we had at the PV. My only complaint of the PV was the lack of a good cup of coffee. But that goes for most of Patong. There werent too many places that made a good coffee.

Well you can get an "decent" (expensive) coffee at Starbucks...guess you tried that...but you can pay as much for that as a full breakfast...Weve been to Patong many times and we thought we'd be smart this last time and bring our coffee plunger and buy grounds when we got there...however we couldn't find any ground coffee beans around Patong...but through this forum I have learned that coffee beans and grounds can be procured at the Deli...not sure where it is but it wouldn't take long to find out...also over at Lotus...they have real coffee as well...
A good coffee can be had at the Pizza restaurant diagonally across from the PV (on Beach Rd) as well...better than Starbucks I reckon.

We liked your comment about the coffee plunger. wqe were thinking we might buy a kettle cups and a jar of instant coffee just to help us thru. We did find that a cafe/restaruant in Bangla rod opposite the shopping complex that sold great coffee and danishes that would be as good as anywhere else we have ever tried in our travels. But a long walk for a quick cuppa.
Hopefully we will be able to get instant coffee from the 7/11.
