Patong Villa - my opinion

Just left Patong Villa after a second stay there in 3 years.

Patong Villa has copped a lot of bad flak on this forum from various people so I thought I'd give my opinion of the place as I see it.

First off,for those who don't know it,the location on the Beach Rd is perfect but for one thing. The stall owners in the small soi leading from the street to reception. They won't take no for an answer, and get very pushy for you to buy stuff. The tailor at the end gave up when I didn't bother to reply but not the t shirt sellers. This is one problem I have found.

The hotel itself is very good. Nice large rooms, the bungalows I think are are overpriced at 2200baht over Songkran, but thats only my opinion. The deluxe and superior rooms at 1750baht represent far better value. The "Sweet Suite" is priced ay 2500baht and sleeps 3. I stayed there with the wife and daughter and it was very nice, and cheaper than two rooms for a family. It has the same facilities as the other rooms with the addition of a kettle and tea/coffee. The price I paid included a complementary breakfast, but it was only tea/coffee/juice/fruit and toast/butter/jam. If you wanted anything else you paid for it.
The internet facility may seem good, but for 150baht an hour its very expensive, and if you want to hook up to their wi-fi with your own laptop it still costs 150b an hr Not worth it.

Its quiet, and has a nice pool and for those reasons I would recommend it at the current price.

Hello dawsey , after reading your posts about Patong villa I was thinking where it was situated. Last time with New Year I stayed at Thara Patong and I was ripped of for sure , I paid 4600 baht a night, but anyway where is Patong villa, I think in the soi to the back entrance to Soi Eric almost at the parking place, is that right ?

Regarding the vendors,
I would have asked the reception for one of their business cards so I can hold this up high while walking through the t-shirt sellers, explaining if and when necessary that I only walk past because my hotel is here, I don't want to buy. From then on just keep holding the card up till they get the message

O.K Dawsey, i do think where it is , but the entrance to Patong Villa must be close to the Thara Patong Hotel. Every day I walked from Thara to Bangla, i did go from the Beach road towards to Bangla and just about 100 mtrs before Bangla I turned left into a soy with a lot of restaurants , also a German / Swiss Rest. and a pizzeria, after that I did go on a large parking place for motorbikes and I did go in aback entrance trough a kitchten to Soi Eric

I was just joking Steve.

I did see some t-shirts for sale in pattaya with 'fcuk off and leave me alone' on the front, they do the trick

Klavg01,if you walk from Savoey towards Thara Patong, you will pass a bakery (Patong Bakery ) and the soi to Patong Villa is about 25yds past. There is a Siam Bank ATM almost next door.
Have you any reason to want to know the precise location of PV?

55555555555555 That is his silly accent He was saying Nag, nag, nag.

Was he trying to get her to the court to give evidence and the people shooting at the bus were policement with shotguns, pistols and assault rifles. If so it was a bl00dy silly film

BTW Stevem never nags, occassional sarcasm, but never a nag

OK JP this soi you describe above is Soi King Fashion..........you want the soi immediately before this with the big green sign at the entrance which says Patong Villa...........you'll know it as you get attacked by just about the most aggrresive little 100 metres worth of traders in the whole of Patong

As Stevem says just ignore them..........there are a couple of nice girls in the shops here too so just say hello from JP to them and I'm sure they will remember you.............55555

I have stayed at the PV 3 times now since my first visit in Nov 2005 and have no complaints.

I agree the rates are slightly high during the peak season, the delux/superior rooms were B2200 a night if i remember correctly last xmas and new year, but each time breakfast has included bacon eggss etc also.

Regarding the traders they are a bit pushy but no worse than anywhere else in Patong, I usually have a laugh with them or ignore them, sometimes i just pretend to look at my phone and walk straight past without a hitch.

I did end up buying a cpl of polo shirts but i was going to buy some anyway then the girl who sold them to me never hassled me again.
