Help with Transportation....

hi all,
I'm heading to Koh Phangan from Phuket. Will be taking a bus to Surat Thanni, then a ferry to Phangan. I understand I can take the bus from the bus terminal in Phuket Town.

1) What is the cheapest way to get to Phuket Town/Bus terminal from the Phuket Airport?

2) Is there a bus to Phuket Town from the airport?

3) Any other ways to get to Surat Thanni???

local bus to surathani(i take it your not stayin in phuket????)cheapest way.

Why are u flying into phuket and heading over to the east side,im baffled, why not samui, hell of alot easier, probably cheaper, youve got some explaining to do fella.

what i would say,if u are staying phuket a while before,u can arrange a minibus and boat, all in one to phanghan, around 400b if u look around, but of course cheaper still, take local bus to surrathani, probs no more than 100b,but then from surathani u would have to arrange a taxi an hour down the road to the port(cant remember the name),then u could purchase your ticket there for the boat,a little more than 100b i think.
there will be plenty of people to help u out in surathani, agencies etc....can give u transport to port and boat ticket deal...just depends how u wanna do it....have a good one

Surat has its own airport..

Domestic busses (not the AC mini bus type) are a rough way to travel.. Slow hot etc lots of holiday wasted in a less then comfy way..

I have sworn off the bus to surat after 3 or 4 bad trips.. OK to drive but bad bus system..

agree with u seft.........

had to use the mini bus-boat over Xmas and NY,no availability on flights

had some horror runs in the minibus, small cramped ,sweatin up,breaking down, waiting about,yeah... of course it only takes 5 hours, more like all fecking day.
id take a big local bus over a minibus anyday............if need be.
a lot less time consuming with flights and less hassle.

The guy comes from Malaysia, so his cheapest flight will be to Phuket. Then he is going to go the hard way across to the other side. Sometimes doing the cheap thing, isnt always the best or quickest option.

Many buses a day to Surat Thani from Phuket town.Check out this link for times and prices
http://www.phukettourism.org/other/bus_time_phuket.htm
Koh Phangan ferry leaves from Tha Tong pier(about 10 km from town)
There is a night ferry (which is cheaper)that leaves from Ban Don pier.
I personaly would'nt recommend the night ferry as I had a nightmare crossing but up to you.
