cost of internal flight bkk to phuket??
Hi
I'm well pi$$ed off so trying to put together a quick break for June
Eva air have an offer on at present on their ~London- Bkk flight for free coach ticket to Heathrow which will save me about £40 or 2500bht.
I need to compare this against the cost of return internal flight from bkk to phuket so that I can choose which flight is best vfm for me.
I appreciate that if I go Eva i'll need to waste time going thro baggage collection/immigration etc etc.....what sort of time does that take please as last time travelled with thai air and had a straight thro ticket.
thanks
Caer

Nok Air, Bangkok Air, Air Ais and Thai Air all offer internal flights, probably some others around...when I was looking Air Asia were 1000B each way on a non special fare...as low as 499 on some...but heard they are very dodgy.
I found a cheaper flight into BKK as well so am taking the opportunity to check out Pattaya and then fly Pattaya==> Phuket via Bangkok air =)

Flew with them a few times and apart from the crappy boarding procedure all flights left in time and arrived in time

Give yourself a minimum of 2 hours to make the change over at BKK, 3 is probably better. Check the websites for Air Asia, fly12go, bangkok air, nok air, Thai Air you need to check these sites as timing is the most important to link to your arrival flight. Cost will be about 2500bht cheap deal, we just paid 3500bht return but Thai Air who offer the most flights were about 5000bht but they do have deals at different times of the day.

thanks guys
thanks for the info
from the Air Asia web site and the in and out of immigration the potential £40 saving will be easily swallowed by even a cheap deal flight and then the messy stuff of buggeration puts a "dark side" on the potential saving.
Looks like its back to plan A....if there ever was a plan A!!
cheers

You'll be there out of season, so last minute flights won't be a problem. What if your long haul flight is late? You might miss your connection anyway.
Personally I'd have a couple of nights in BKK (and a trip to Lolitas ) and then get a cheapie flight.

Even though I had my ticket for TG215 in my sticky mitt the girl at Transfer Desk 2 wasn't for giving me a boarding pass. After gruesome interrogation (I can be really naughty sometimes) she admitted that ThaiAir had sold that and other flights twice over during Songkran!
She wanted me to go on standby for a later flight - I said no, stood my ground and she relented in giving me a spare seat on a flight leaving in 15 minutes instead! Transfer Desk 2 to Gate 7 in 2 minutes flat my little short fat hairy legs a blur! Beeped on the way through the metal detector but the bloke waving the bleepy wand thing couldn't catch me! Sweated my way through Duty Free (Managed a quick free Johnnie Walkers on the way past!) Then on the bus to the plane. MTB just after 2300 hours local. Brilliant!
We all got a Songkran garland of flowers on leaving the plane which I thought was a nice gesture by them! The cleaner at PV loved it (The Garland) the next day and gave me extra bog roll - Sorted!
Not sure what the flight cost but will try to find out!

I very definitely wouldn't use Air Asia if you have a long haul connection to make on the way back. They are regularly 4 hours late or cancelled altogether.
