booking using this site. Will my US credit card charge me int'l fee?

A quick question, I want to book the hotels using this site, but I forgotten if they charged me an international fee for paying w/ the credit card. I am in the USA, I totally forgot and I did book using this site in December.

Is it worth it during may to actually book it online? Rather than just goto the hotel and take a room when I get there? What kind of rates should I expect?

I can't speak for the USA but there is no surcharge using your credit card to book from the UK. However if you settle your bill using a C/C then some hotels will charge you. This can be up to 3%

I find its best to just reserve your hotel using your card to pay either the asked 10% or one night deposit. Then pay the total bill on leaving using baht.

Up 2 U if you want to chance a walk in on a certain hotel. Hardly likely to be fully booked in May,but if its a smaller one you want to stay at,it is possible.

As for rates, you may get some discount for a walk-in, but thats not guaranteed. Offset that against making a firm booking online beforehand.

Most credit card companies don't actually charge you a fee, But they do load the exchange rate on what youve spent by upto something like 2.5% but that is often on the full exchange rate not the tourist exchange rate whioch is what you get when changing cash so you dont lose a lot if anything.

thanks for the advise. I don't know if I mentioned that I will using the credit card just to put a deposit/reservation on it. The rest I will pay in baht when I clear the bill at the end. Looks like I will be staying at the NANA Hotel.

On my Visa card they charge me 1.75%, even when the amount is credited in Euro (no currency exchange applies). So the location of the company is relevant.
