the itinerary you set out in your post is all doable and makes sense however it is better IMHO to do it in reverse as Phuket is much more relaxing than Patts........you can also stop in at Samui on the some flights between U-Tapao and Phuket (or reverse) if you want to spend a couple of days there too.....but for 13 days that may cramp it up a bit

thanks for the imput - here's my logic - this is my 2nd trip to thailand - 1st time was in 2004 (ten days) - freak'en love Pattaya!!! - 1st time in Phuket - will go there first (Patong) - I all ready know what's waiting for me in pattaya - if I love Phuket - will stay there - if not - on my way to Pattaya -thinking I my bite the bullet (extend my flight $$$$) and stay another week - How great is a vacation when two weeks is a joke on the time needed to enjoy it all!

FLIGHTS WITH BANGKOK AIR from utapao (pattaya) depart phuket at 09.20

arrive in utapao at 10.35 am

from utapao can easily get taxi into pattaya 30-35 minute journey
