Dismantling work in front of C&N Hotel

For those of you who are thinking of booking at C&N Hotel at patong, please bear in mind that there will be alot of noise right in front (opposite reception) of the hotel. Ask for as high a floor as possible or move to the back rooms.

The Black Crab (?) bar, the saloon and restaurant had been torn down and another building will be constructed in their place.

I think I must be quite lucky not to be in the C&N this time coming as i usually would! But after the trouble last time i was there, I decided that a change of hotel would be better!

Still, hope that the building work doesnt effect anyone who is there or near by!

Thanks for the info Irish.
How do the Orchid Residence compare to C&N; I'm looking at their homepage now and they claim it's in a quite area.Rooms look good (DeLuxe 680thb).
If one would go for a pool, what would then be best solution?

I'll go for Orchide Residence then, sounds good - C&N with this construction ongoing is to much of a risk to take. At Orchid, I take they have a lift? I read some hotels didn't have one. Is there a floor/side of hotel one should request? Phuket, here I come
Big note: I read that Carlsberg is coming back to Thailand soon, GREAT!!

Irish; being a Viking I have to be updated on such important issue
Read it in Danish newspapers 2 days ago. After they solved the issue with Chang beer (would you call that beer?), they are now negotiating with prospective partner's in Thailand, one being the brewer of Singha. They need to brew in Thailand, otherwise the import taxes would kill any prospect for business. I don't think there will be Carlsberg this summer, but should be back 2007.

I've diverted to the Dutch brew, but only until Carlsberg is back.

On Orchide residence, Do you know if they have a lift/best side & floor of hotel? I wouldn't like to have a 5th floor room and have to climb stairs in 35dgC, sweating like a pig

Orchid Residence does not have a lift , best rooms are at the front. I stayed on the second floor when there last year and had no problems. I also stayed next door at Casa Summer Breeze at Songkran and would highly recommend it.

We had the dismantling of what was left after the Soi Croc fire while I was at Patong Villa this trip. Pain in the bum, starting drilling the rebar out of the concrete at about 8am and knocked it on the head about 6-ish!

Anyone know how the rebuild is coming along?

That was no lady Sir...........That was my wife!

Can't pinpoint when it started really Rog, just sort of noticed it one day! Like everyone else there, I was usually unconcious or listening with a PV glass at Nels door! (Noisy sod that bloke isn't he?)

They were just trying to skim off the burnt bits with pneumatic drills and probably carving thier initials in the concrete for future generations to see. It was nice when it stopped though!
